Lourdes is our pastry chef at Sonoma Market.  By the time she was in the 8th grade she knew this was the career path she wanted to follow.  She studied cake and pastry decoration in Mexico for 2 years, and then continued her studies at Santa Rosa Junior College in baking for an additional year.  She has more than 20 years experience making incredible pastry confections.  We are thrilled to have her on our baking staff.

Our bakery department is proud to serve over 100 varieties of fresh-baked breads, cakes, cookies, pies, muffins and more. We offer gluten-free and sugar-free items, as well as some of the best artisan-made items we can find, such as Ackerman’s famous coffee cakes, Basque Boulangerie artisan breads, and Sonoma’s own Studebaker’s gourmet cheesecakes. We're also pleased to be the only store in California to currently carry cookies and brownies from the WOW Company. They're made from all natural ingredients, gluten free, and amazingly delicious!
 

Maira  Bakery Manager

Maira began her career working in the Deli at Glen Ellen Village Market 10 years ago.  Within three years she was transferred to Sonoma Market and worked both in the Deli and Coffee Bar.

Due to her previous experience, the market provided her the opportunity to work in the Bakery where she excelled quickly and within a few years became our Bakery Manager.

She has an extensive product knowledge and is eager to provide our customers with exceptional service.  She enjoys crafting tantalizing & sumptuous bakery confections to please every palate.
